Three Iranians arrested for attempted drug-smuggling | Malay Mail Online: "Three Iranians were detained in two separate arrests over the weekend for attempting to smuggling drugs into the country.
Both arrests were made at the arrival hall in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang last Saturday and Sunday.
In the first arrest, which took place around 9.50am on Jan 1, police, acting on a public tip-off, approached a 27-year-old Iranian who had just arrived on a flight from Doha, Qatar.
Police then instructed the man to open his luggage for inspection.
Selangor Narcotics Investigation Department chief ACP Nordin Kadir said the suspect then tried to flee but police succeeded in apprehending him.
When the luggage was inspected, police found 600 grammes of syabu worth RM150,000 hidden between the suspect's clothings.
'The suspect was taken to Selangor police headquarters for further investigation and has been remanded for a week until Jan 8,' Nordin said.
He added that on the next day at around 3.30pm, police arrested two more Iran nationals, also for attempting to smuggle drugs into the country."
